Council Gyms Offer Free Classes to Boost Activity

Gym with exercise bikes and weight racks

Council-run gyms will offer free exercise classes for residents this winter in a trial scheme aimed at getting more people active.

Officials said the classes will include beginner sessions and options for older adults. Public health teams will track attendance to see whether the scheme should become permanent.

Residents can book online or at their local centre. Places are limited and will be offered on a first come, first served basis.
