Trade ministers from a group of leading economies agreed on Friday to a joint work plan aimed at simplifying customs checks and reducing delays at borders.

The plan commits countries to share data on shipments and to speed up approvals for goods that meet agreed standards. Industry groups said it could cut waiting times by days on some routes.

Details on enforcement were left for a later round of talks. Ministers said they hope to finalise the text before the end of the year.
